Exceptional Journeys in Central America

Dear Members,

If you’re thinking about a holiday in the upcoming winter or spring months, you might consider Costa Rica, Belize, or Guatemala. With 25% of its land protected and abundant native wildlife, Costa Rica is a nature lover’s dream. Belize offers pristine rainforest and snorkeling or diving along the world’s second-largest coral reef. And Guatemala features striking scenery, rich culture, and some of Latin America’s most impressive Mayan ruins. The weather is ideal this time of year in all three places, and the travel distance from the U. S. is fairly short, with very little jetlag.

Our partner Blue Parallel has put together two very special itineraries, one to Costa Rica and one combining Guatemala and Belize.

The Best of Costa Rica

On this 8-day adventure, you’ll travel by private plane to remote, luxurious eco-lodges on the Osa Peninsula and Arenal. You’ll enjoy rainforest hikes, river cruises, and a range of activities like zip-lining and horseback rides, wrapping up with a stay on the beach at the Four Seasons resort on Papagayo Peninsula.

Highlights of Guatemala and Belize

This 9-day journey begins with a helicopter flight to stunning Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, where you’ll enjoy talks by a scholar of Mayan history, take a cooking class, and visit local communities along the lake. Next is pristine Lake Peten Itza and a private, guided tour of the UNESCO-listed Tikal site. In Belize, you’ll stay at two Francis Ford Coppola properties, explore the jungle by horseback and canoe, go swimming or diving on the offshore cays, and take a private boat tour through the mangrove estuaries.
