Travel Tips

One tip I'd like to pass on, is to take 2 days to get down to South Africa. We flew into Frankfurt and then took a flight down the next day. It really helps reset your internal clock.

Another tip is to plan to have at least one extra day before you go on safari in case you have a delay. Safaris are all pre-paid. You don't want to miss your connection. On this trip we actually needed the extra day as we didn't realize the children needed 3 blank visa pages in their passports for South Africa (a country that doesn't require visas).

And the last tip is to plan at least a couple of days on the front end or the back end of your trip to relax. On this trip, we added several days in Cape Town and several days at Rocktail Bay before we went on safari in Botswana.
