Mid December through April is generally considered the Virgin Islands' high season–the perfect time to escape stormy weather in the Northern Hemisphere. Winter and Spring breaks are natural choices given the kids are already out of school. If you prefer fewer people and a more leisurely pace, early summer is pleasant, though tropical waves are common this time of year.

topWeather & Temperature

A year-round climate of sunny days in the 80s and nights in the 70s make the Caribbean a true paradise. While winter is generally dry and tropical showers are usually quick to pass, don't be surprised by a little rainfall. June to November is official hurricane season, but the danger is greatest in late summer and early fall.

The US and British Virgin Islands are located in the Atlantic Standard Time Zone-four hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), one hour ahead of Eastern Standard time. When it is noon in New York it is 1pm in the Virgin Islands, except from April to October (Daylight Saving), when both places share the same time.

You will need a US passport or other proof of US citizenship such as an original or certified birth certificate, Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship as well as a photo ID. You will also need onward or return tickets and sufficient funds for your stay.
