topPompeii

The eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. buried this once-bustling city in ash - and froze it in time. Perhaps the largest and most accessible excavations anywhere, the site offers a fascinating snapshot of Pompeiian life. There is so much to see, you may want a full day just to explore. An English speaking guide is a plus. This is a great stop if you are traveling down to the Almalfi coast.
